The company 'Stavridis Special Transport & Cranes was founded as a private company in 1994. It operates in lifting and special transport of static blocks, steel constructions, wind turbines, transformers, steam turbines, generators, gas turbines, hydroelectric dams equipment, industrial and earthmoving equipment. In addition, we escort heavy vehicles, issuance of transit permits and road survey in Greece. Also the company undertakes logistic tasks of oversized pieces as it has 600 square meters covered and 20,000 square meters open land with a gantry crane.
The main objective of the company is a direct response to the best possible result to the needs of customers both inside and outside Greece. To achieve this objective requires proper study, accountability and consistency that is the result of the experience acquired the specialized personnel of the company over the years in special transport and lifting.

Lift and set up 135t cooling generator
Process of the project:
1. Set up the cranes in correct place and get ready to lift with the proper equipment.
2. Lift the cooling generator in both sides using an auxiliary crane.
3. Rise the load in vertical possition and unhook the auxiliary crane.
4. Set up the load to final place.

Why you guys use sliding method instead of crane/cranes to lift it?
Need less work space - low cost - increase safety and the project finish quicker
@@Stavridis-crane increase safety and quickness?Hmm…lower costs for sure.
Safety because the transformer never it’s on the air without any support underneath, instead with the crane the transformer it’s 1 meter on the air and in this space you need 2 cranes. Crane need one day to prepare and load the counterweights on the trucks, one day to set up lift and un setup, one day to set up again unload and un setup and one day to unload all the counterweights to HQ so total 4 days. Sliding system you need half day to prepare the trailer and the equipment, one day to load and transport the transformer, one day to unload and half day to unload all the equipment in HQ so total 3 days.
